Footprints in the sand

Many of us will be familiar with the "Footprints in the sand" poem. Here is an amusing (and challenging) variant I found...

Buttprints In The Sand

One night I had a wondrous dream,
One set of footprints there was seen,
The footprints of my precious Lord,
But mine were not along the shore.
But then some stranger prints appeared,
And I asked the Lord,"What have we here?"
Those prints are large and round and neat."
But Lord, they are too big for feet."
"My child," He said in somber tones,
"For miles I carried you alone.
I challenged you to walk in faith,
But you refused and made me wait."
"You disobeyed, you would not grow,
The walk of faith, you would not know,
So I got tired, I got fed up.
And there I dropped you on your butt."
"Because in life, there comes a time,
When one must fight, and one must climb,
When one must rise and take a stand,
Or leave their butt prints in the sand."

"When one must fight and one must climb"- so true. And a humorous way of getting that message across!!

Hi Robert. This was a great poem. Funny, yet it absolutely made me think. I showed you a little "link love" in my most recent post. Thanks again.

God has a sense of humor: Jesus ate with sinners and was criticized for drinking with them. My guess is that he shared a lot of laughter with them.

Thanks for coming by my blog. You touched me with that comment.

Hmm... that could just be my butt print sometimes! ;)

You'd think that God *would be* exasperated with this naughty bunch of children He has sometimes, eh?

So much less comforting than the other one, but no less true. So true! LOL

I usually revert to being silly when I don't have anything deep and meaningful to say. Unfortunately there's been a lot of that lately. ;-)

This is a very good way to get the message across. You can only totally rely on someone for a season before you start doing something yourself. Even babies get up and walk within months. ha ha ha

That is probably the best adaptation of that poem ever. People need to stop blaming their god for everything, and take responsibility for their own lives!
